LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) -The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced Gregory W. Goins, FACHE, as Director of the Lexington VA Health Care System. Goins will oversee the shipping of fitness care offerings to more than 38,000 veterans, with a running price range of more than $426 million.

Goins recently became the Medical Center Associate Director for the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH. In this capacity, he provided government leadership to the Medical Center and all Veterans Health Administration services delivered by using a two-department campus serving 17 counties with 6 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics.
Goins has more than ten years of experience in the private and public sectors, and his experience consists of diverse management roles, organizational improvement, and multi-facility operations. Goins is an OEF Veteran and a 10-yr Navy Veteran, wherein he served as a Hospital Corpsman and a Medical Service Corps Officer; his duty stations protected Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Naval Hospital Portsmouth, Camp Stone, Herat, Afghanistan, and Naval Station Newport.
He earned his BA in Economics from Western Washington University and an MBA in Operations and Process Improvement from Ohio State University. The Lexington VA Health Care System is part of the VA MidSouth Healthcare Network, which consists of 6 VA medical centers in Kentucky and Tennessee and network-based outpatient clinics in those states.
The Lexington VA Health Care System is a fully approved division tertiary care medical center. The Franklin R. Sousley Campus has a Community Living Center with hospice and respite services, primary care, domestic-based number-one care, prosthetics, optometry, intellectual fitness, substance abuse treatment, girls’ fitness, acute rehabilitation, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder residential rehabilitation.
The Troy Bowling Campus, built adjoining the University of Kentucky, offers forte outpatient care and acute clinical, neurological, surgical, and psychiatric care. The Lexington VA Medical Center operates four network-primarily based outpatient clinics within Kentucky’s Somerset, Morehead, Hazard, and Berea areas.
